Trudy with her two large Mastiffs, having a nice cuddle

GET TO KNOW ME!

Hello! I'm Trudy, the heart and soul behind Guardians of the House and Hound. My passion for animals has been a lifelong journey, and I’m thrilled to bring that love to your pets. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been surrounded by a wonderful mix of furry, feathered, and even scaly friends -from clumsy large dogs to curious rodents, birds, and everything in between.

With over 25 years of experience caring for a wide variety of animals, I’ve always had a special bond with larger dog breeds, having grown up with Great Danes and now personally having two mastiffs. Having a “pack” of dogs has been my norm, and it’s given me the confidence and expertise to handle even the most energetic and strong-willed pets.

My commitment to the well-being of your pets goes beyond just passion; it’s about ensuring they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I am fully DBS checked, insured, and pet first aid trained, which means I can administer medication, provide post-operative care, and respond to emergencies with calm, professional skill. I take pride in my attention to detail, learning your pets' routines, and keeping them consistent to make their experience as stress-free as possible.

At Guardians of the House and Hound, I offer a range of services during the in-house pet sitting, including dog walking, grooming, and basic training. Whether you’re away on holiday or just need a helping hand, you can rest easy knowing that your furry family members are in capable, caring hands.

Based in Kent, I’m also happy to travel to nearby areas to bring my services to you. For me, this isn’t just a job—it’s a true labor of love. I can’t wait to meet your pets and help them feel at home, even when you’re away.

If you’re looking for someone who loves animals as much as you do, look no further. I’m here to give you peace of mind and provide your pets with all the care and attention they deserve.
